We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver accessories, produced during the reign of King Edward VII (1901-1910), are characterised by light, graceful designs often influenced by the French 18th-century Rococo and Louis XV styles, featuring elaborate scrolling foliage and floral motifs.

These items were predominantly crafted from sterling silver using techniques such as repousse (hammering or pressing from the reverse side to form a raised design), chasing, and engraving, frequently paired with linked silver chains and secure clasp mechanisms.

Authentic pieces bear official British hallmark stamps indicating the assay office, the lion passant for sterling silver, and a date letter corresponding to the specific year of manufacture.

An antique silver purse can be displayed as a decorative cabinet piece, placed inside a glass-fronted vitrine, or set upon a decorative tray alongside other silver collectibles to add a touch of historic metallic texture to a room.

Antique silver should be gently cleaned using a soft microfiber cloth and specialised silver polish only when necessary, avoiding abrasive materials that can wear down fine embossed details, and stored in a low-humidity environment.
