Here we have a wonderful rare seaman or sailors Camphor wood chest c1800. As you can see the chest has fantastic colour and patina. There is a single plank top with stunning colour and grain. The top has a thumb moulded edge and opens to reveal an original painted interior and candle or safekeeping box. There is also a carved half hull boat mounted to the inside which is extremely rare and original. The chest is of revealed dove tail construction and has retained the beautiful Sailor made Beckett handles. The handles are mounted in wonderful carved brackets with Sailor love hearts again a rarity. The whole has a plinth base. A super example in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 95 cm long 50 cm deep 45 cm high.
