Description

A substantial early Regency (late George III) silver sifter spoon with clear hallmarks for London 1813 with makers initials, slightly rubbed, for IM, probably John Merry. The sifter spoon has very good weight (approx 5oz) and is cast with a pierced bowl and very ornate decoration on both sides of the handle, terminating in a scallop shell motif. The initial S is inscribed at the top of the handle. Very beautiful, good condition and good silversmithing. Collectable.
