Good colour, polish and patina throughout. Some odd and minor marks and blemishes, in keeping with age and use. All the timbers are original, including the base. Lock and escutcheon are later. Part of the catch for the lock from the inside of the lid is absent. A few later screws have been put into the stretcher part of top, likely to secure it. The back top left corner of the top has a small high quality sympathetic repair. A very small amount of extinct old worm holes, which do not affect the sturdiness of the piece, and has been treated. In good working order, very serviceable and ready to use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
