Description

A good 17th century Antique Oak Coffer from the reign of Charles II circa 1670. The coffer features a typical arcaded frieze with carved arch designs and matching carved lozenge panels to the front, sides and lid. This is traditionally constructed with fielded panels and peg dowelling, raised upon stiles. The coffer has a forged iron lock plate with sliding brass keyhole and cover still present and has its original hand forged loop and eye iron hinges in good serviceable order.

The chest has great charm and a nice patina to the hand carved oak.

This measures 69 cms high 100 cms wide by 54 cms deep.
