Roman Gold and Garnet Semi-circular Pendant

Description

A remarkable Roman gold and garnet semi-circular pendant. A semi-circular cut garnet sits inside a gold surrounded, decorated with beading. A further single garnet is suspended on a wire in a drop from the main pendant. Dating back to the Imperial Roman period, a time of emperors and conquest when Rome flourished until its final demise. A wonderful piece of history to own. A part of our ancient jewellery collection.

CONDITION

Good – This Roman gold and garnet semi-circular pendant is in lovely condition. There is a split to the garnet and the gold is slightly misshapen in places which is very usual in a piece of jewellery of this age. Great care should be taken if wearing this item due to its age.
