Miles Griffiths Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
In very good condition and with a lift up lid with original iron hinges, open storage inside, along with a candle box that has three drawers and two secret drawers beneath one of them. Under the bedding box area are two working drawers that have the original handles and this original painted pine bedding box stands on bun feet. Inside is lined in old blue paper, this can easily be removed. A nice added extra is on the underside of one of the secret drawers is written August 29th 1852 and initialled by the maker, H.J. A lovely example.
