Pietra Dura 18ct Gold Victorian Pendant

Description

A very fine high carat gold victorian Pietra Dura locket pendant in 18ct gold. The chain is separate and a later 9ct gold belcher but please let me know if you are also looking for one. The fine locket is set with roses and typically made in Italy and bought by Victorians on their grand tours. The setting is Etruscan revival, copying the earlier Etruscan goldsmiths from circa 750BC. Having rediscovered their goldsmiths work the Victorians copied its style in many pieces. It is in wonderful antique condition.
