A Camphor Campaign Trunk

19th century
Description

A 19thC Camphor wood campaign trunk with intact brass corner caps and straps. brass escutcheon together with flush lid lifter and side carrying handles. Some expected battle scars but generally good and a perfect coffee table size. Slight top rhs front edge lid timber movement but lid closes on the lock perfectly and not unsightly.(see last photo) Iron roller castors to the underside. Brass hinges. Equally nice rear side.

Excellent faded colour and grain.

94.5 cm wide by 45 deep and 43.5 cm high. Almost the same size (slightly smaller) as the other I have for sale...would look great either side of a sofa.
