This is a fine quality antique English late Georgian solid oak & elm trunk, boasting lovely mellow colour, with a lovely grain configuration, circa 1800 - 1820, in excellent original condition.

Description:

This is a fine quality antique English late Georgian solid oak & elm trunk, boasting lovely mellow colour, with a lovely grain configuration, circa 1800 - 1820, in excellent original condition. Constructed with an oak moulded top, the front and sides of the trunk are made from elm, which displays a lovely grain configuration. The interior is clean, dry and practical and usable. The lid retains its original steel strap hinges, which are in good working condition. The interior also retains its original floorboards and backboards. The trunk also retains its original steel working lock (with key). The sides incorporate the original steel carrying handles. The trunk stands on its original oak plinth base. The back of the trunk retains its original panels along with the original floor. The trunk has been French polished by hand, in our workshop, to a professional standard, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard.

This is a fine quality antique English late Georgian solid oak & elm trunk, boasting lovely mellow colour, with a lovely grain configuration, circa 1820, in excellent original condition. The trunk has been cleaned and French polished by hand, in our workshop, to a professional standard, and is finished with a scrubbed & stained finish. The interior is clean, dry, and usable. The original steel hinges are in good working condition. The trunk retains its original lid, floor, sides and back. The trunk also retains its original steel working lock (with key). The trunk is solid in joint; it does not wobble on the floor and is ready to use.
