Description

An extremely good quality Oriental freestanding teak chest abundantly and deeply carved with detailed scenes of children and elders, trees, pagodas, boat, and bridges with a cherry blossom border on bracket feet. The chest retains its original decoratively embossed brass back plate and latch and comes with a lock and key. The interior of the chest has a removable tray and is lined in camphor wood which has a lovely aroma.

Inside the chest has the name Colonel Kelly. Most likely the chest would have been brought back after serving in South China for the British Army.
