17th Century English Antique Oak Six Plank Coffer

This is a beautiful, early antique six plank coffer in oak that is a wonderful colour. Still full height on it's legs, all nailed construction with a simple, scribed moulding line around the lid edge and to the front panel. Very well proportioned and in excellent condition. The legs are shaped at the front, complete with the original, period iron locking plate and initialed on the front with WH for the owners inventory. The coffer lid opens on later hinges and inside is a candle box. A simple, English 17th century antique oak six plank coffer that is a fabulous colour.
