I have always found ottomans to be both attractive and functional whether in their original covering or beautifully re-upholstered, like this Mid 19th Century rosewood example. If covered with a good quality contemporary fabric, as this is, they seamlessly blend in with modern and period interiors, providing storage, seating and a focal point. As you can see from the images this ottoman has undergone a complete transformation - sympathetic restoration followed by expert upholstery.
