Description:

Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany ottoman, circa 1880, which has been newly upholstered and is excellent condition. It has been newly upholstered in top quality taupe & red floral pattern structured chenille, finished with matching braiding and fawn coloured upholstered walls. The upholstered seat itself is firm, which means that you won’t sink into the upholstery, but at the same time, it is very comfortable to sit on. The hinged seat lifts open to reveal an internal storage compartment, which has been newly upholstered in black material. The lid features brass stay, preventing the lid from opening too far. The base of the ottoman comprises a small moulded plinth, raised on bun feet, incorporating top quality English-made solid brass mug castors.

Condition Report:

This Victorian ottoman is in excellent condition. It has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, finished with matching braiding. The upholstery is therefore new, clean and free from any wear, dirt or damage. The seat itself is firm and is very comfortable to sit on or rest your feet. The moulding has been French polished by hand, to a professional standard in our workshops. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the moulding, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The internal compartment has been newly upholstered in black material. Replacement bun feet incorporating top quality English-made solid brass castor wheels. Importantly, there are no breaks to the feet or frame. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
