Medieval Bronze Bear Signet Ring

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Robert Harris Jewellers

An unusual and rare medieval bronze signet ring with a bear engraved to the round face. In medieval times the bear had many meanings dependent on who you were and appeared in coats of arms as a sign of strength. The Christians of the time believed the bear was a symbol of the victory of the divine over chaos! This ring has been cleaned and is in a very wearable condition. A part of our ancient jewellery collection.
