Description:
The ottoman has been newly & professionally upholstered with traditional horsehair filling and top-quality full grain red-brown leather and benefits from a sumptuous deep buttoned seat. The seat is hinged and opens to reveal a spacious interior, which has been lined with new cream fabric. The original hinges to the lid are strong and in good condition. The lid is also secured when open by two stay straps. The underside of the ottoman retains the original wooden boards. The ottoman incorporates a moulded mahogany frame at the base and stands on its original elegant turned bun feet.
This Victorian brown leather ottoman would be useful for storing magazines, music, clothes or bedding. It would look great in the bedroom in front of the bed or as an additional stool in the living room. It has a lovely mahogany patina moulded frame, which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care it has received.
Condition Report:
The ottoman is in excellent condition having been newly upholstered to a professional standard in full grain leather. Therefore, the leather upholstery is new and free from damage, rips, and marks. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany moulded frame and bun feet but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The frame is solid and in sound condition with no loose movements. The original hinges to the lid are strong and in good condition, with new lid stay straps. The ottoman stands on its original elegant turned bun feet. The ottoman sits firm on the ground and does not wobble; the brass castors are in excellent condition.
