Antique 17th Century Cromwellian Country Oak Pegged Coffer Chest C1640 Wdb4427/9.4

Description

This is a lovely antique 17th century cromwellian country oak coffer chest and dating from around the time of oliver cromwell 1640. It has a moulded edge to the plank top with three panels to the front the two end panels having geometric design. It has panelled sides with iron carrying handles and has a rough hewn panelled back stands on original stiles and is peg joined.

In very good condition with a lovely deep dark nut colour and good patination to the oak. There is a grain split to the back of one of the planks to the top but this just adds to its charm and authenticity and oozes the character of the cromwellian period.

Measures: 25" high X 22" deep X 53" wide
