Good 17th Cent Oak Coffer

Description

Here we have a nice late 17th/early 18th Cent oak coffer. It is in good original condition and with a bit of wax polish will look fantastic.

It stands on its original tall style feet and has an attractively carved three panel front. The carving is of good quality and most of it looks to be original. The plank lid has retained traces of its original wire hinges but these have been augmented by some later strap hinges. The top has a nice molded edge and inside it has its original candle box.

It is now around 300 years old and obviously has some signs of age but has survived in remarkable good condition. There is a small amount of old woodworm. This looks long dead but has been treated as a precaution.

119cm (47“) wide

78cm (31“) high

56cm (22“) deep
