18th Century Oak Dower Chest or Coffer

Description

18th century Welsh oak dower chest or coffer in basically original condition. Nice shape panelled front with two drawers beneath, panelled ends with solid planked top. The drawers are oak lined and have their original brass handles. The top has its original iron hinges but the lock is later. The inside of the coffer has been lined with paper in Victorian times which is rather nice. The coffer is all original and is in pretty good condition for its age, there is a small section of hard wax in the top where there has been some old worm damage but other than that pretty good.

The coffer is a nice original colour with good patination and waxed finish.
