Description

A useful general purpose, medium sized, late 19th century painted metal storage box. This well designed, sturdily made trunk has a studded flat top with rounded front and back edges, lifting handles to each end, and it retains its beautifully distressed original paintwork. The original solid brass lock (no key) engages perfectly to keep the lid securely in place. Unlike so many metal storage boxes, this example is wonderfully smooth and tactile. It is English, and it dates from c1890s.
