Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The front with 4 arched, fielded panels is over two short and one long cross banded drawers with the original brass swan neck handles, brass escutcheons and back to front oak linings. All on a moulded base and original ogee bracket feet. Painted with the initials ‘A’ and ‘S’, it is possible this was a ‘marriage chest’.
