Highly decorative near pair of early 20th century hardwood and mother of pearl Syrian trunks or chests.

The trunks consist of foliate carved tops with inlaid mother of pearl circle decoration with a border of geometric designs.

The foliate carved fronts, sides and backs all with profuse mother of pearl inlaid geometric decoration with carrying handles to the sides and shaped edge below.

The decoration and dimensions of the trunks just differing slightly but they work very well as a pair and would be ideal coffee tables as well as great for storage.

The near pair of trunks are in very good condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
