Victorian Silver Milk Jug

£160    $214    €187
This is a Victorian hallmarked sterling silver milk jug. It was assayed in Birmingham in 1889 and made by John Millward Banks. It is George III in style, with a loop handle adorned with a shell thumb piece, and a gadrooned rim. The body has engraved designs and it is raised on four ball supports.

There has been restoration where the body meets the bottom part of the handle. There are some dents, the most obvious being to the body beneath the spout, where the engraved wreaths are.

It weighs 81g (2.6 ozt).
