A lovely chest with a hinged rectangular top and the front panel carved with stylised flower heads and geometric motifs flanked by bobbin turned pilasters. There are substantial brass swing handles and a skirted base on old replacement bun feet. The inside is lined with 19th century paper. As to be expected with an item of this age there are signs of old woodworm. It is long since dead
