Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany ottoman, circa 1880, which has been newly upholstered and is excellent condition. It has been newly upholstered in top quality cream & light oatmeal floral pattern structured cotton, finished with matching braiding. The upholstered seat itself is firm, which means that you won’t sink into the upholstery, but at the same time, it is very comfortable to sit on. The hinged seat lifts open to reveal an internal storage compartment, which has been newly upholstered in dark blue cotton. The hinges allow the lid to remain open on its own, while also stopping it from opening too far. The base of the ottoman comprises a small moulded plinth, raised on later bun feet, incorporating brass ceramic mug castors.

Condition Report:
This ottoman is in excellent condition. It has been newly upholstered in top quality cream & light oatmeal floral pattern structured cotton, finished with matching braiding. The seat itself is firm and is very comfortable to sit on or rest your feet. The upholstery is therefore new, clean and free from any wear, dirt or damage. The stool has been French polished in our workshops. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The internal compartment has been newly upholstered in dark blue cotton material. The bun feet are later replacements. Importantly, there are no breaks to the feet or frame. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
