Description

A very decorative and unusual late 19th.early 20th.Century French cream painted storage box. The rectangular shaped lid having raised decoration with harebell swags and drapes, oval classical female heads and a central cartouche of 2 children playing and all set within a beaded frame. The lid lifts to reveal a blue velvet lined interior with a compartment in the lid and this box benefits from having a working lock & key. The front, back and sides with conforming harebell decoration and the whole raised on square tapering legs. Original painted finish with a few bumps & bruises associated with age and use. Dimensions:- Height…24’’/ 61cm. Width…21.25’’/ 54cm, Depth…16’’/ 41cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £38.
