An early 20th Century Oak Travelling Trunk in a beautiful ''golden'' patina.
On the top of the lid a dedication plaque reveals that it was a gift to A W DYKES from H & E D on September the 5th 1907.
The pair of brass handles to the sides are typical of travelling pieces of furniture and are very useful to move the chest around when full.
Dimensions are very desirable allowing for use as a coffee table or even as ideal storage for an LP collection.
We have dated this piece on the basis of the brass plaque but it is likely that the box could have been manufactured before this date (probably Late Victorian) and given as a gift in 1907.
