Description

An early 19thC camphor wood campaign trunk. Fabulous brass edging and banding which has been battered to a nice patina over the years. The timber has an excellent glowing colour. Original brass side lifting handles to each side.Iron hinges. Two locks and brass escutcheons. There is evidence of an old candle box but this is lacking now.This is a particulary nice example which shows its passage through time but retains its original character.

The size is perfect being 85 cm wide by 43 deep and 43.5 cm high.
