Description

A good 19thC oak and iron banded silver trunk the former property of a knight. Owners plaque...Sir Samuel E Scott Bart.....a prominent MP and Banker. The Scott family is an important one being owners of Sundridge Park in Kent, private bank owners and had extensive property in Scotland. it is likely that this trunk was in the ownership of the family prior to Sir Samuel E. The trunk is in good condition with both its locks which work well, Substantial iron side lifting handles and iron banding. Very slightly domed top but still useable as a lamp of coffee table. The interior has one upper tray missing and the remainder could be completely removed if required.
