Coffer Chest Blanket Box Oak James II C1680

Description

Here we have a wonderful small James II Oak coffer c1680. As you can see the chest has exceptional colour and patina. There is a two plank lid with a thumb moulded edge. The chest retains the original pin and loop hinges to the rear. The chest has super original carving to the front and sides. There is a chipped carved frieze to the top and scribed carving to the legs. There are also lovely reeded mouldings throughout and lozenege shaped catouches to the front three panels. The chest is of pegged mortice and tenon construction throughout and the back is also paneled. A fantastic period chest in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 41 inches wide 18 deep and 23 high.
