Description

This is a fabulous, most characterful hardwood trunk which dates from around 1860. The chest has iron strapwork and brackets giving it a great look and strong carrying handles to either side. It is raised on later bracket feet. There is an old but secure split to the lid but generally this is in great condition with a really good colour. The original candlebox is inside which has a false bottom with secret compartment underneath, revealed by sliding up the front panel. The chest measures 106 cms wide, 69 cmshigh and is 56 cms deep.
