Large Unusual Teak Trunk

19th century
Description

Circa 1870, unusual, large size colonial teak travelling trunk. With brass mounts and corners, and also unusual brass strapping that incorporates the locking mechanism. The interior is fitted with a lid locking mechanism and also has a removable tray with shaped handles. The number 13 has been painted on to either side.
