Description

Here we have a wonderful original English Oak Queen Anne coffer c1700. As you can see the coffer has excellent colour and patina. There is a three paneled top with reeded moulding. The front of the coffer also has three panels with original carving and a carved frieze above and the initials H T. The chest also has a working lock and key. The coffer is of pegged mortice and tenon construction and retains the original strap hinges. The back is also paneled and the whole sits on stile legs. There is incised decoration to the legs and incised roundels to the end panels. The chest has remained at full height so is a rarity. A super period coffer in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 46 inches wide 20 deep and 27 high.
