A French Studded and Battoned Trunk

19th century
Description

A late 19thC French canvas covered beech battoned travelling trunk. Makers name on the locks and on an interior label is Barcet Lyon. The brass locks are impressive and the catches are sprung. A working key which is non original locks the trunk. Good leather side carrying handles. Decorative brass studding. Old labels to one side relating to Marseilles and Marocco. There has been a repair done to the base of the underside which does not show in the trunks normal stance.
