The ottoman has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain brown tan leather; it features a sumptuous leather deep-buttoned seat with a stuff-over design. The seat is hinged and can be opened to reveal a spacious interior, which has been lined with brown fabric. The hinges to the lid are strong, which means the lid can be supported, whilst open, without the need of a strap or stay. The sides of the ottoman feature an elegant concave design, which terminates on a moulded mahogany frieze above small bun feet on solid brass castors.
This ottoman would be useful for storing magazines; music or clothes and it would look great in a variety of rooms from the living room or bedroom in front of the bed. As it boasts the original polish to the mahogany frieze, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
Condition Report:
The ottoman is in very good condition having been newly upholstered with top quality full grain brown tan leather. Therefore, the leather upholstery is new, free from wear, damage or fading. The interior has also been newly relined therefore it is clean and dry. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The ottoman, its lid and original hinges are solid with no breaks, splits or movements. The ottoman sits firm on the ground and does not wobble. As the ottoman frame boasts the original polish, it has a mellow colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning it has received. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
