Panel Fronted Oak Chest

18th century
Description

Circa 1700, a hinged top, panel fronted oak chest. The large rectangular top has a simple moulded edge and opens to reveal a spacious interior. The front has 4 fielded panels, and beneath these are a further 3 elongated panels. Underneath this are 2 long drawers and 1 shorter drawer. The drawers have swan neck brass handles. The side has 2 fielded panels and the fore edge of the chest is chamfered, running from the top to the feet at the bottom. This chest is a good size and with great color.
