Victorian Carpenter's Chest with Fitted Cabinet Work Interior

Description

A Victorian period carpenters chest of large proportions.

The wooden chest is black painted with brass finger lift to the front and iron handles to each side. Seemingly quite plain, the chest has a superbly fitted interior with mahogany panelling to the interior lid and numerous drawers that slide back and forth to allow the workman access to his tools.

These chests were not only practical but were a means for a tradesman to show off his craft. A wonderful and very complete example.
