Period Oak Country Antique Coffer is of pegged construction and dates from early to mid eighteenth century. This charming piece has a beautifully figured moulded lid and once lifted reveals a candle box with hinged lid, the front and sides are panelled with simple carvings and moulded edges. The oak has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
