Description

Here we have a super 17th century Charles II English Oak coffer of small proportions c1680. As you can see the chest has great colour and patina. There are three panels to the top with chamfered edges. As you would imagine the coffer is of pegged constructed throughout. There are lovely original batwing hinges held in place with handmade rose head nails and a candle box to the interior. There is an original carved freize to the top and carved detail to the sides/legs. Fortunately the coffer has lost little height over its lifetime. The coffer has lovely small proportions and is in excellent retail condition. The dimensions are approx 44 inches wide 22 deep and 25 high.
