Description

Finest quality 19th century general purpose storage trunk in solid camphorwood. This beautiful example is of simple, understated design and has an untouched finish of unrivalled warmth and depth of character. It retains its original flush-fitting metal corner protectors and has a working key to the original lock. The top was made to be strong; it has three reinforcing bars underneath. Often referred to as a campaign chest or a military trunk, this wonderful piece of English cabinetmaking dating from c.1875, would make a perfect low table.
