Description

A really lovely example of a 19th century camphorwood trunk of small to medium size. It has a flush fitting handle to the front, all eight corner protectors and edge protectors, and its original lifting handles to each end. This beautiful general-purpose storage coffer – ideal for using as a low table – is of well constructed high quality timbers having a rich colour and a most attractive natural lustre shine. It has a working key to the original lock, and is dated to c.1880s/c.1890s.
