An outstanding late Victorian inkwell made from two cattle horns and mounted with silver plated fittings, a stunning combination and always highly sought-after; I haven''t had one of these for several years.
The large inkwell is made from a hefty piece of crystal with a hinged lid, engraved clearly as a presentation piece in 1897, some usual wear to the plate on the interior.
Below the ring handle, is an integral pen rest for one''s dip pen (the one shown is a new example which I am including in the sale to complete the look)
Excellent condition measuring 8 1/2'' x 8 1/2'' x 8 1/2'' tall. The glass inkwell measuring 2 1/2'' square.
