Georgian Oak Mule Chest in Good Original Condition

Description

Very nice all original 18th century George III oak mule chest. Dovetailed construction throughout, the lift up top with nicely moulded edge with two drawers beneath which are cock beaded in walnut and have their original brass swan neck handles and iron locks. The drawers are both oak lined with the bottoms running from front to back.

The chest stands on all its original ogee bracket feet. The lift up top has the original iron hinges but the lock is missing.

The piece retains a very nice original colour and patination throughout and has been well waxed over the years.

There is old worm to the back board but it is not live and has anyway been well treated.

SIZE; 43" wide by 22" front to back by 33" in height.
