It is adorned throughout with exquisitely detailed pictures depicting the life of Admiral Lord Nelson including dramatic seascape battle scenes, close up scenes on board, and the place of his birth – a beautiful old parsonage in Burnham Thorpe, Norfolk. There are crests and motifs to each end, and even the inside of the lid is embellished with a portrait and two further crests. This astonishing Georgian coffer is English, c.1820''s and the paintwork is as old, or possibly a little later.
