Description

A very decorative and highly unusual military campaign trunk with decoupage decoration depicting military and political subjects. Makers label S & S Isaacs Military warehouses London. Substantial brass corner cappings to the top the edges iron banded with iron side lifting handles. Original lining to the interior. The trunk probably dates from the 1840s with the decoupage work having been done later as the scenes date from the 1880's possibly to commemorate the owners exploits contacts and memories. Over lacquered in a brick coloured wash.

77 cms wide by 39 deep and 46 cms high.

A good size as an end of sofa stand, a coffee table or boot box.
