A wonderful example of an early 20th century cabin trunk. This beautiful travelling case – unusual for being of more cuboidal proportions – is comprised of a canvas outer surface with studded leather edging, wooden slats, and numerous metal protector mounts. It has its original leather lifting handle to the top and two working sprung latches to the front. This stunning trunk is so evocative of the Edwardian era; it has almost certainly been around the world aboard steamer ships and is small enough to have been carried to, and used within the cabin. Ideal now, as a small low table. It is English, c.1910.
