Beautiful Storage Trunk in Mahogany

19th century
Description

A beautiful example of a small Victorian general-purpose storage trunk in well-figured mahogany. This wonderful box – in truly exceptional condition – is comprised of of lift-up lid opening on its original hinges to reveal a plain interior. The gilt-brass lifting handles are also original and it has an untouched finish of great warmth and character. It retains its original lock with a working key. This chest could easily double as a low table for use in a sitting room. English, dating from c.1875.
