Sold by: Waterfall Antiques

A most attractive example of a 19th century metal-bound military chest in solid camphorwood. This eye-catching general purpose storage trunk – sometimes referred to as a campaign chest – has its gilt-brass lifting handles, an interesting old hand-painted inscription to the top, and metal corner protectors. It has a wonderful lived-in look with an abundance of charm and character. There is a working lock and key. English, c.1850 – c.1875.
