Waterfall Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
It is further adorned with wooden slats, and there are heavy-duty leather lifting handles to each end. The leather is in superb condition and is of a most appealing chestnut brown colour with a rich, warm glow. The lift-up lid opens to reveal a single-compartment fabric-lined interior with a fitted interior tray. This fine chest is English, dating from c.1890 – c.1920.
