Description

An absolutely stunning late Victorian/early 20th century leather-bound cabin trunk of medium to large proportions. This beautiful chest – which can now be used as a general purpose storage trunk or as a low table – has metal protective mounts to all corners and all edges. It is further adorned with wooden slats, and there are heavy-duty leather lifting handles to each end. The leather is in superb condition and is of a most appealing chestnut brown colour with a rich, warm glow. The lift-up lid opens to reveal a single-compartment fabric-lined interior with a fitted interior tray. This fine chest is English, dating from c.1890 – c.1920.
