Small Period Oak Antique Country Coffer

This Charming Small Oak Antique Country Coffer dates from around 1690, it is of unusual small proportions and has a moulded lid above a simple carved front with iron locking plate. The sides are also moulded with panelled sides and backboards. This charming coffer is of pegged construction and has the usual old repairs adding to the character and authenticity of this wonderful piece. The oak has aged to a warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
